Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Visitors rave about the friendly and attentive service that makes every meal enjoyable. The casual vibe allows guests to relax, whether they’re here for a quick drink or a lengthy meal. The picturesque outdoor seating area is a favorite during warm days, providing a great spot to unwind. Many patrons love the extensive beer selection, including local ales and a well-curated wine list. The Sunday roasts, particularly the gammon steak and the cheese and onion pie, consistently receive high praise. Plus, families appreciate the diverse children's menu, ensuring young guests find something they love.

Most Disliked

While many enjoy the spacious outdoor area, some find it less inviting during colder months when options are limited. A few diners mention that during peak times, especially on Sundays, a wait for tables or service can occur, detracting from the experience. Some patrons have pointed out that the menu could benefit from additional seasonal specials to keep things exciting. Limited dessert choices occasionally leave guests longing for more options after a satisfying meal. Lastly, while the ambiance is often praised, large groups can disrupt the cozy atmosphere, especially on busy evenings.

Came here to complete some work, all the staff here were friendly and very helpful... The pub looked clean and very charming, the addition of the real log burning fire place made it also feel really homely. The Hare and Hounds is a quaint country pub with a lot of appeal, also has great outdoor seating for the warmer days 😎

'We'll be back' says it all. Great local gem. Amazing, fresh food. 5 out of 5 guests were very happy with their meals. We had a burger, gammon, Sunday roast, cheese and onion pie and fish of the day (sea bass), ice cream, honeycomb cheesecake and brownie. We were very nicely surprised by, not only food, but nice homey deco and very helpful and professional staff. Everyone from my 11 year old daughter to my friend who celebrated his 80th birthday loved this visit and couldn't praise enough. Fresh, tasty, well presented... We will come back for more;)

We both had chicken wrapped in bacon with motzerella, with a taragon sauce , new potatoes and four vegetables,it was cooked and presented perfectly. Probably one of the best pub lunches I've eaten in a very long time.
